The New York Collaborative Regional Coordinating Center (NYCC-RCC) is a collaborative effort between the NIH and three major academic medical centers in New York City, their affiliates, and partner sites. These centers include the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS), New York University (NYU) School of Medicine, and Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM). The NYCC-RCC facilitates groundbreaking research in stroke treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation. The NYCC-RCC encompasses all five NYC boroughs and reaches all the way to Westchester and Long Island. With the addition of our new partner sites, the NYCC-RCC encompasses a broader region in Long Island and now has a base in Nashville, TN. As one of the top enrolling NIH StrokeNet centers for enrollment of minority groups, we are committed to serving those patients who are underrepresented in stroke research. We acknowledge that individuals of lower socioeconomic groups suffer a disproportionately high burden of risk, disability, and death from stroke and work to address this through ensuring a diverse population of patients is represented in our trials.
